Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a closer provided on a hinged door that reliably stops a door without entrapping a finger even when the door is closed with force. [Solution] A door closer wherein a retraction chamber is provided at the intersection of an insertion groove and a lock groove of a guidance groove in a closing guidance plate, and a buffering gate comprising an elastic body to bias a gate bar from the rear side toward the guidance groove by a prescribed biasing means is disposed in the entrance to the retraction chamber. If the pressing force when an engaging projection inserted into the guidance groove is in contact with the gate bar of the buffering gate exceeds the biasing force applied to the gate bar, the gate bar and the engaging projection are pushed into the retraction chamber and the engaging projection is temporarily blocked from penetrating into the lock groove. When the pressing force of the engaging projection is absorbed, the engaging projecting enters into the lock groove by being pushed back by the biasing force of the elastic body.
