Abstract:
This door latch device (5) comprises: a latch mechanism (11) that switches between a latched state in which a striker is held and a released state in which the striker is disengaged; an electric release mechanism (12) for using driving force generated by a first electric motor (21) to switch from the latched state to the released state; a manual release mechanism (13) for transmitting to the latch mechanism (11) an operation force that is input to an operation member (6) provided in a door (1), and thereby switching the latch mechanism (11) from the latched state to the released state; and a lock mechanism (14) that switches between a locked state in which switching to the released state by means of the manual release mechanism (13) is prohibited and an unlocked state in which switching to the released state by means of the manual release mechanism (13) is allowed. The lock mechanism (14) has a second electric motor (22), and operates solely on the basis of driving force generated by the second electric motor (22).
