Abstract:
A mechanism for opening and closing a door which can be opened and closed from either side thereof, the mechanism allowing the door (4) for covering the opening section (3a) of an apparatus body (2) to be opened and closed selectively from two directions by means of a pair of cam mechanisms (12) which are symmetrically disposed at both opposing ends of the apparatus body (2) and the door (4). Each of the cam mechanism (12) is provided with: a hinge pin (21) provided to one of the apparatus body (2) and the door (4) and forming the pivot shaft for the door (4); and a groove cam (31) provided to the other of the apparatus body (2) and the door (4) and engaging with and guiding the hinge pin (21). Each of the cam mechanism (12) is also provided with a groove cam shutter (41) which covers the groove cam (31) when the door (4) is opened and which retracts from the groove cam (31) when the door (4) is closed.
