Description:
DOOR RETAINER STOP

DESCRIPTION

Door retainer stop.

Object of the invention.

The present invention relates to a door retainer stop, more particularly to a stop of those to be fixed on the floor to limit the opening angle of the door and keep the door in an open position.

Background of the invention.

At present there are different stops in the market designed to limit the opening angle of swinging doors, and avoid them for impacting against other doors, walls or other objects in their opening path.

In many cases the stop also acts as a retainer, so once opened the door to this stop, any kind of mechanism retaining the opened door is actuated.

For example, a type of retainer stop consists of a body having a bottom surface provided with fixing means to be fixed to the floor, and a front surface on which a magnet is facing a ferromagnetic plate fixed on the door to be retained. The main problem is that these stops are clearly visible on the floor, especially when the door is closed and the stop is alone on the floor.

Some manufacturers produce stops in different colors for matching with the decoration and kind of floor on which they will be placed. But in fact it is very difficult for the body color to exactly match the color of the floor, so such stops are clearly visible.

Description of the invention.

The door retainer stop object of this in invention has technical features provided to allow its placement completely disguised on floors of different materials and tonalities.

This retainer stop is of the type comprising a body having a bottom surface provided with fixing means to be fixed to the floor, and a front surface on which a magnet is facing a ferromagnetic plate, which is placeable against the door to be retained.

According to the invention the body of the stop is made in a transparent or translucent material, allowing its proper integration in floors of different materials and tonalities, and it is disguised because it allows for the passage of the light that is reflected by the floor through it.

In this way, when one looks at the retainer stop on the floor, the translucent or transparent body, for example in methacrylate, allows the floor color to be seen, and the stop body takes on a tone or vision effect similar to the color of said floor, with the stop being almost imperceptible.

According to the invention, the magnet is attached on the front surface of the stop body avoiding the use of screws or other fasteners into the stop body that would be visible because the body is made of a translucent or transparent material,

In one embodiment of the invention, the front surface of the stop body around the magnet comprises a pad for cushioning the door impacts.

In one embodiment, this pad is in silicone, preferably transparent or translucent, thus cooperating with the body in disguising the stop on the floor. Description of the figures.

In order to complement the description that is being carried out and with the purpose of facilitating the understanding of the characteristics of the invention, the present description is accompanied by a set of drawings wherein, by way of a non-limiting example, the following has been represented:

- Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the retainer stop.

- Figure 2 shows a profile view of the retainer stop of the preceding figure.

- Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the retainer stop, provided in this case with a silicone pad around the magnet

- Figure 4 shows a profile view of the retainer stop of the preceding figure.

Preferred embodiment of the invention.

As can be seen in the referenced figures, the door retainer stop consists of a body (1 ) of a transparent material, in the shape of approximately a quarter sphere with a lower surface (2) provided with fixing means (3) to the floor, in this case a self-adhesive layer, and a front surface (4) in which a flat and disc-shaped magnet (5) is attached.

The magnet (5) allows the retention of a door at its opened position, the latter being provided with a ferromagnetic plate (not shown) for this purpose. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the stop has at its front surface (4) a pad (6) arranged around the magnet (5) and has a hole into which the magnet (5) is housed.

The purpose of the pad (6) is to cushion the impact of the door against the stop.

Once the nature of the invention as well as an example of preferred embodiment have been sufficiently described, it is stated for all pertinent purposes that the materials, form, size and arrangement of the elements described are susceptible to changes, provided it does not involve an alteration of the essential characteristics of the invention that are claimed subsequently.
