Description:
DOOR OR WINDOW AND CLOSING SYSTEM FOR DOOR OR

WINDOW

The present invention relates to a door or window and a closing system for a door or window.

Door or window is intended as a movable structure that allows closing the openings left in buildings for use as an entrance or to allow the passage of air and light. In particular, doors and windows are divided into exterior doors and windows and interior doors and windows depending on the application for which they are used.

The doors and windows comprise a frame which is mounted on the opening of the wall of the building and at least one closing panel reversibly movable with respect to the frame to allow or prohibit the passage through the aforementioned opening.

Generally, the panel for doors or windows are equipped with closing systems of the rotary handle type, in which the lowering movement of the handle determines the unlocking of the panel to allow its opening.

In essence, the handle moves a latch between a closing position of the door or window in which it is at least partially engaged within a suitable housing afforded in the frame and an opening condition in which it is arranged outside of the aforementioned housing.

In the known systems the handle is directly mounted on the lock latch, generally by means of a pin with a square section of the handle that is inserted into a square hole in the lock. Such pin-hole coupling determines at the same time both the support of the handle and the transmission to the latch of the rotary movement impressed on the handle.

Disadvantageously, such systems constrain unlocking the panel to the presence of the handle, thereby limiting the possible embodiments adapted to enhance the design of the door or window.

Doors or windows of more recent design comprise a roller latch configured to disengage from the frame without resorting to the kinematic mechanism of the handle. In this way, the handle assumes the sole function of moving the panel.

Disadvantageously the roller latch hits the frame during the closing of the panel, causing progressive wear of the door or window and generating noise pollution.

In addition, the presence of the roller latch exposed to view limits the aesthetic pleasantness of the door or window in the open configuration.

US 2006/037258 A1 and CN 204 190 218 U respectively show a window and a door comprising magnets that are mutually in abutment in the closing position. US 2016/305161 A1 shows a lock comprising a dead bolt and a magnetic latch movable with respect to the housing of the lock between a closing position and an opening position.

In light of the problems disclosed above, an object of the present invention is to provide a door or window and a closing system that overcome the drawbacks of the prior art mentioned above.

In particular, an object of the present invention is to provide a door or window and a closing system that exhibit high durability and maintain their effectiveness during the operational life of the door or window.

The specified object is fully achieved by a door or window and a closing system according to the present invention, which are characterised by what is contained in the claims set forth below. The dependent claims correspond to possible embodiments of the invention.

In particular, in accordance with a first aspect, the present invention relates to a door or window comprising a support frame having at least one upright and/or a crosspiece. A closing panel is reversibly movable with respect to the support frame between a closing condition of the door or window and an at least partial opening condition of the door or window. A magnetic induction closing catch is operatively interposed between a first portion of the closing panel, comprising a front wall of the closing panel itself, and a first portion of the support frame, comprising a front wall of the frame itself, to retain the panel in the closing condition of the door or window. Mechanical locking means is also provided, in particular a dead bolt, operatively interposed between a second portion of the closing panel and a second portion of the support frame. The mechanical locking means can be activated to lock the panel in the closing condition of the door or window.

By delegating the magnetic catch to the retention of the panel in the closing condition, it is possible to release the presence and/or position of the actual lock handle while the mechanical locking means ensures the stable closing of the door or window, blocking the panel in the closing condition.

Additionally in accordance with a second aspect, the present invention relates to a closing system for a closing panel of a door or window, comprising a magnetic induction closing catch configured to retain the panel in a closing condition of the door or window. The magnetic induction closing catch comprises a catch adapted to be mounted on a first portion of the closing panel and an armature adapted to be mounted on a first portion of the support frame. The catch and the armature comprise respective permanent magnets. The first portion of the closing panel comprises a front wall of the closing panel itself and the first portion of the support frame is a portion facing the front wall. Mechanical locking means is applicable on a second portion of a door or window in order to lock the panel in the closing condition of the door or window. The mechanical locking means comprises a lock body and a dead bolt and is adapted to be mounted on a second portion of the closing panel. The mechanical locking means comprises a striking plate mountable on a second portion of the support frame. The catch is housed in the lock body and the armature is housed in the striking plate.

The technical characteristics and advantages thereof will become more apparent in the detailed description that follows, made with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: - figure 1 illustrates a door or window in accordance with a first embodiment;

- figure 2 illustrates a door or window in accordance with a second embodiment;

- figure 3 illustrates a closing system for a door or window according to a possible embodiment.

In the appended figures, reference numeral 1 denotes in its entirety a door or window. The door or window 1 comprises a support frame 2 adapted to be housed for example in the passage opening of a wall that divides two contiguous environments and comprising, in the most general and widespread configuration, two uprights 3 and an upper crosspiece 4 connected to the two upper ends 3a of the uprights 3. In other words, the support frame 2 covers the perimeter of the opening in the wall.

The support frame 2 can be made of different types of material, for example wood or metal, giving aesthetic pleasantness and a high level of customisation to the door or window 1.

The door or window 1 comprises a closing panel 5 reversibly movable with respect to the support frame 2 between a closing condition and an at least partial opening condition of the door or window 1.

In accordance with the embodiment illustrated in the appended figures, the closing panel 5 is hinged to an upright 3 of the support frame 2, for example by means of two or more hinges. In this way, the closing panel 5 is rotatable with respect to a vertical hinge axis "Y", substantially parallel to the direction of extension of the uprights 3.

The closing panel 5 can be made of different types of material, such as wood and metal and comprise portions in glass.

Preferably, the door or window 1 comprises a fixed handle 6 mounted on the closing panel 5 and configured to be easily gripped by a user and for imparting a traction and/or thrust action to the closing panel 5. The term "fixed" means that the handle cannot assume changes in shape or position with respect to the panel since, as will be illustrated in the following, in the context of the present invention the opening of the panel is not a function delegated to the handle.

The handle 6 can have a different shape from that shown in the embodiments in the appended figures without altering the inventive concept of the present invention.

In particular, the multiplicity of materials and geometries that can be used to make the handle 6 give the door or window 1 a high degree of customisation in order to comply with the different functional and aesthetic requirements of a user.

Advantageously, the door or window 1 comprises a magnetic induction closing catch 7 operatively interposed between a first portion 100 of the closing panel 5 and a first portion 101 of the support frame 2. The magnetic induction closing catch 7 is active between the closing panel 5 and the support frame 2 so as to retain the panel in the closing condition of the door or window.

In other words, the magnetic induction closing catch 7 maintains the first portion 100 of the closing panel 5 adjacent to the first portion 101 of the support frame 2.

To pass from the above-mentioned closing condition to a condition of at least partial opening, the user imparts a force to the closing panel 5 such as to overcome the force caused by the magnetic induction closing catch that attracts the support frame 2 and the closing panel 5.

In particular, the magnetic induction closing catch 7 comprises a properly so-called catch 8, mounted on the first portion 100 of the closing panel 5 and an armature 9 mounted on the first portion 101 of the support frame 2. Being mounted on the closing door 5 which is reversibly movable with respect to the support frame 2, the catch 8 constitutes a movable group of the magnetic induction closing catch 7 while the armature 9, being mounted on the fixed support frame 2, constitutes a fixed group of the magnetic induction closing catch 7.

The first portion 100 of the closing panel 5 comprises a front wall 5a and the first portion 101 of the support frame 2 comprises a portion of the support frame 2 facing the front wall.

In particular, the front wall 5a is meant as the wall of thickness of the closing panel 5 interposed between the two main opposing faces 5b of the closing panel 5.

In accordance with a particular embodiment shown in fig. 1 , the first portion 100 of the closing panel 5 is arranged in a top portion of the closing panel 5 and preferably in the vicinity of or proximal to an upper corner of the closing panel 5. For example, a corner opposite the above- mentioned hinge axis "Y" of the closing panel 5. The terms "top" or "upper" are used with reference to the vertical condition of use of the door or window.

Preferably, the magnetic induction closing catch 7 lies on a portion of the upright 3 (figure 1 ) and/or on a portion of the crosspiece 4 (figure 2). In other words, the armature 9 can be arranged on a portion of the upright 3 (figure 1 ) and/or on a portion of the crosspiece 4 (Figure 2) and the catch 8 is arranged on the respective facing portions of the panel.

In particular, the magnetic induction closing catch 7 comprises one or more permanent magnets mounted on the closing panel 5 and/or on the support frame 2. These magnets allow retaining the panel of the door or window in the closing condition, interacting with each other or with material portions reactive to the magnetic action.

As illustrated in the appended figures, the catch 8 and the armature 9 comprise at least one respective permanent magnet 8a, 9a (figure 3).

The door or window 1 further comprises mechanical locking means 10 activatable between a second portion 200 of the closing panel 5 and a respective second portion 201 of the support frame 2 to lock the panel 5 in the closing condition of the door or window 1 so that it is stably closed and its movement is mechanically prevented by an inhibition element or dead bolt.

Preferably, the mechanical locking means 10 comprises a lock body 1 1 and a dead bolt 12 constituting a locking element, mounted on a second portion 200 of the closing panel 5.

In particular, the dead bolt 12 is movable at least between an extracted condition in which it is at least partially extracted from the lock body 1 1 to engage within a corresponding striking plate 13 mounted on the second portion 201 of the support frame 2, and a retracted condition in which it is retracted inside the lock body 1 1 to allow an opening movement of the closing panel 5.

The lock body 1 1 can comprise a key device for the activation of the dead bolt 12.

Preferably, the second portion 200 of the closing panel 5 is arranged in a median area of the height of the closing panel 5 (figure 1 ).

According to this embodiment, the striking plate 13 is arranged on the upright 3 and the dead bolt 12 is reversibly movable transversely, preferably perpendicularly, to the upright to engage in the striking plate 13, locking the closing panel in the closing condition of the door or window 1.

In accordance with a particular embodiment shown in figure 2, the dead bolt 12 is made in the form of a tip "P" and the second portion 200 of the closing panel 5 is arranged in an upper and/or lower portion of the closing panel 5.

In other words, the tip "P” is adapted to engage in a respective striking plate 13 arranged on the crosspiece 4 or in a suitable lower housing, for example afforded in the floor.

As illustrated in figures 1 -2, the aforementioned first portion 100 and second portion 200 of the closing panel 5 are not joined and are defined by respective seats or cavities that are spaced and distanced from one another.

In this case a high degree of customisation of the door or window 1 is obtained.

According to a further aspect the present invention also relates to a closing system for a closing panel of a door or window, comprising a magnetic closing catch 7 as previously described, in which the catch 8 is housed in the lock body 1 1 of the mechanical locking means and in which the armature 9 is housed in the striking plate 13 of the mechanical locking means (figure 3).

The present invention achieves the proposed objects, overcoming the disadvantages complained of in the known art.

In fact, the closing system according to the invention allows making a door or window of high durability thanks to the presence of a magnetic closing catch that, lacking a mechanical latch, limits the wear of the frame and increases its operational life.

In addition to the above, the magnetic closing catch confers high aesthetic appeal to the profile of the door or window, which lacks elements protruding from the profile of the closing panel.
