Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a dosimeter that is capable of reading a dose multiple times and that has excellent tissue equivalency, and a radiation dose measuring method using the dosimeter. The dosimeter according to the present invention is characterized by having a detecting element that contains magnesium oxide and by the dose measuring method thereof being based on radio-photoluminescence. The detecting element preferably consists of a magnesium oxide monocrystal or sintered body, and more preferably contains a rare-earth element such as samarium. The radiation dose measuring method according to the present invention is characterized by using the dosimeter according to the present invention and by the dose measuring method being based on radio-photoluminescence.
