Provided are a double exposure photograph capturing method and device of an electronic device. The method comprises: running a photograph capturing mode of an electronic device; receiving a first photograph capturing instruction; synthesizing in real-time, on the basis of a double exposure algorithm, a first frame of exposure image data captured by a camera module at a first preset proportion with each frame of exposure image data recorded in real-time by the camera module at a second preset proportion, displaying the synthesized exposure image data in a photograph capturing preview interface; receiving a second photograph capturing instruction; synthesizing, on the basis of the double exposure algorithm, the first frame of exposure image data at the first preset proportion and a second frame of exposure image data captured by the camera module at the second preset proportion, and generating a compressed and encoded image on the basis of the synthesized exposure image data. Embodiments implement direct presentation of double exposure effects in the photograph capturing preview interface and a finished photograph, allow the proportion accounted by double exposure in the finished photograph to be set freely, and prevent to the greatest extent reductions in image pixels and preview smoothness.
