Abstract:
A double row tapered roller bearing unit in which both inner ring elements (14, 14) on the outer side are pressed from both sides in the axial direction to preload each tapered roller (16, 16). The pressing is made by an outward facing flange (30) formed on the outer peripheral surface of either of both ends in the axial direction of an outer ring member (22) on the inner side and by a holding ring (31) installed on the other end, or alternatively, the pressing is made by a pair of holding rings (31) installed on both ends in the axial direction of the outer ring member (22) on the inner side. By this, the bearing unit is assembled with good accuracy, is processed easily, and facilitates preload management and preload readjustment.
