Abstract:
A double-sided polishing method for an optical lens, where simultaneous polishing of upper and lower surfaces of a lens is implemented by means of arranging grinding tools at locations above and below the lens, and the grinding tools fitting against the upper and lower surfaces of the lens and reciprocally swinging during polishing, which produces relative motion and removes surface material. The movement of the grinding tools during polishing comprises rotation of the upper and lower grinding tools themselves as well as reciprocal swinging of the entire upper and lower grinding tools, wherein the rotation of the upper and lower grinding tools themselves is performed via the driving of a motor, and swing rods drive the upper and lower grinding tools to perform swinging of said tools in a circular trajectory relative to a lens to be polished by means of universal joints. During polishing, a polishing solution is supplied by means of supplying the solution at the center of a grinding tool or drip addition of the solution from the outside. In order to eliminate the problem of uneven removal of material, a method of machining via grind tool swinging and workpiece turn-over and polishing is utilized during polishing, highly efficient double-sided high precision machining of a non-planar lens can be achieved, and same can be used in double-sided polishing of different types of lenses.
