Abstract:
To provide a cigarette that produces less second-hand smoke, and while complying with standards for lower ignition propensity, has the property of not going out when in a static combustion state. Specifically, the provided cigarette has the following: outer and inner paper for wrapping shredded tobacco; the shredded tobacco wrapped in said paper; and a filter. The outer paper contains a combustion aid in the amount of 1.9-3.7 wt.%. The basis weight of the outer paper is 58-67.5 g/m2, the basis weight of the inner paper is 13-17 g/m2, the air permeability of the outer paper is 6-14 Coresta units, the air permeability of the inner paper is 13-27 Coresta units, and the outer paper has two or more band-shaped regions each having a diffusion coefficient of 0.045-0.075 cm/s.
