Abstract:
A down product that is especially suitable for sports apparel and sporty clothing material, etc. and is comparable to conventional down products in being lightweight, having less erectness, being not bulky and exhibiting high thermal insulation effect and that realizes high far-infrared effects. The down product comprises a down having powder of a material of high far-infrared effects attached to branches of an internal microscopic structure thereof. Preferably, the size of the powder is in the range of about 10 nm to 1 μm. Preferably, the powder is converted to a water-soluble colloid to thereby produce a colloid liquid, and down is immersed therein, followed by drying, to thereby effect the attachment to down. Preferably, the powder is composed mainly of calcium carbonate or coral, and preferably, at the production of colloid liquid, the powder is coated with an organic material, such as a fatty acid, and converted to colloidal calcium carbonate. Preferably, pulverization of the material, or final stage of pulverization and conversion to colloid are carried out by means of a colloid mill.
