A drain valve for a battery box, a battery, an electric device, and a drainage method. The drain valve (1) comprises: a sealing member (11) and an expansion member (12); the sealing member (11) is provided on the outer side of a drain port (201); the expansion member (12) is provided on the side of the sealing member (11) facing the drain port (201); the expansion member (12) is configured to expand after absorbing water and press the edge of the sealing member (11) to move in a direction away from the inner side of the drain port (201). The drain valve (1) is connected to the drain port (201) of the battery box (2) and then closes the drain port (201). After water enters the battery box (2) or a cooling liquid leaks, the water/cooling liquid in the battery box (2) makes contact with the expansion member (12), and the expansion member (12) expands after absorbing the water and presses the sealing member (11), so that the edge of the sealing member (11) is bent and deformed in the direction away from the battery box (2), so that a gap is generated between the outer side of the battery box (2) and the sealing member (11), the water/cooling liquid can be drained out from the gap in time, and dangers such as a short-circuit fire and explosion of the battery (10) can be reduced.
