Abstract:
A drawing device for dividing a screen into blocks of mxn pixels (m and n are integers of one or more) and drawing a graphic image on the screen according to a drawing command in units of a block by using digital data thereby to share an external memory with other processing circuits, comprising a block buffer memory (130) having a data capacity for at least one block and a block processing unit (120) for reading data on the blocks from the data for one screen stored in an external memory (41) for the blocks including the area where an image is drawn according to every drawing command, storing the data in the block buffer memory (130), storing pixel data obtained by performing arithmetic operations necessary to draw the image according to the drawing command in the block buffer memory (130), and returning the data from the block buffer memory (130) to the external memory (41).
