Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a drill blank, a manufacturing method for the blank, a drill and a manufacturing method for the drill with which a soldering step is simple, and accurate soldering is possible. [Solution] A drill (1) having a drill blank (2) soldered thereon, and with which the soldering of the drill blank (2) is simple, and the accuracy of the soldering can be increased, said drill blank (2) having a long cylindrical form comprising a cemented carbide. If the diameter of one end (A) among both ends in the lengthwise direction of the drill blank (2) is represented by dA, the diameter of the other end (B) is represented by dB, and the minimum diameter in the central portion (C) is represented by dC: dA and dB are both at most 2mm; dA≥dB>dC; the ratio of the length of the drill blank in the lengthwise direction to dA is at least 3; dB/dA=0.96-1; and dC/dA=0.9-0.995.
