DRILL AND METHOD OF CUTTING MATERIAL TO BE CUT USING SAME

Provided is a drill comprising: a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge which are located at the tip of a circular column-like cutting section; a first groove and a second groove which are connected to the first cutting edge and the second cutting edge, respectively, and helically disposed in the outer periphery of the cutting section so as to extend from the tip to the rear end of the cutting section; and a first land and a second land which are located on the outer periphery of the cutting section and are each disposed between the first groove and the second groove so as to extend from the tip to the rear end. The first groove and the second groove are separated from each other in the range from the tip to the rear end. The cutting section has a first region in which the diameter of the inscribed circle of the cutting section in a cross-section perpendicular to the rotation axis is gradually increased from the tip side to the rear end side. A method of cutting a material to be cut using such a drill is also provided.
