Abstract:
A drive assist device, provided with a display unit, an imaging unit, a driving state detection unit, a reference image generation unit for generating a reference image from one point of view, a display image extraction unit for extracting a display image to be displayed on the display unit from the reference image, and a display control unit for displaying the display image on the display unit. During normal travel, the display image extraction unit extracts, as the display image, a first display image including a rearward visual field directly rearward of the host vehicle. Outside of normal travel, the display image extraction unit extracts a second display image including a rearward visual field to the lateral rear of the host vehicle on the basis of the result of detection by the driving state detection unit. When switching to a display image, the display control unit maintains the display position of a portion of the first display image that is included in the second display image.
