Abstract:
Provided are: a drive device capable of obtaining sufficient air breather functionality while being compact in the height direction and the diametral direction; and a construction machine provided with the drive device. The drive device is provided with an electric motor (1) and a reduction gear (2); the interior of a motor housing (3) and a reduction gear chamber (12) interconnect in the state wherein the exit/entry of air between the reduction gear chamber (12) and the interior of the motor housing (3) is permitted while limiting the inflow of a lubricating oil (O) from the reduction gear chamber (12) to the interior of the motor housing (3); and an air breather tube (24) and air breather passage (23) for opening the interior of the motor housing (3) to the atmosphere are provided to the motor housing (3).
