A drive device is provided with a first connection unit, a second connection unit, a switching element, and a control unit. The first connection unit is configured to connect to a gate resistor section of a voltage-driven element. The second connection unit is configured to connect to a drive power supply. In the switching element, a first input-output terminal is connected to the first connection unit, and a second input-output terminal is connected to the second connection unit. The control unit is connected to a control terminal of the switching element and controls the voltage input to the control terminal of the switching element. The control unit has an error amplifier, a reference power supply, and a switch. In the error amplifier, one input terminal is connected to the reference power supply, another input terminal is connected to the first connection unit, and an output terminal is connected to the control terminal of the switching element. In the switch, one terminal is connected to the second connection unit, and another terminal is connected to the control terminal of the switching element.
