Abstract:
The problem addressed by the present invention is that, irrespective of whether a modulation resolver mechanism configuration is simple and has exceptional characteristics, an electronic control circuit for driving modulation in this configuration is complex and expensive. Provided is a drive device for a modulation resolver apparatus, the drive device comprising: a controller that generates pulse width modulation signals and sign signals having positive and negative signs synchronized with a basic clock, and that outputs sign-added pulse width modulation signals generated from the pulse width modulation signals in accordance with the signs of the sign signals; and an input coil drive unit that includes first and second switching circuits connected between a prescribed power supply voltage and a reference potential. The sign-added pulse width modulation signals include positive-sign and negative-sign pulse width modulation signals that correspond to the positive and negative signs of the sign signals. The first and second switching circuits are connected to an input coil of the modulation resolver apparatus and are configured to carry out switching operations by means of the positive-sign and negative-sign pulse width modulation signals.
