Abstract:
One embodiment of the drive device of the present invention is provided with a rotor, a stator, a housing having an accommodating part that accommodates the rotor and the stator and is capable of holding oil, a pump that is driven via a motor shaft, and a valve that is provided to the housing. The pump comprises a pump chamber that is provided to the housing, a suction port that is capable of suctioning the oil inside the pump chamber, and a discharge port that is capable of discharging oil from inside the pump chamber. The housing comprises a first oil passage that is connected to the discharge port, and a branched oil passage that is connected to the first oil passage and is open at the inside of the accommodating part on the upper side of the stator in the vertical direction. The motor shaft comprises a second oil passage that is provided inside the motor shaft and is connected to the first oil passage, and a first through-hole that connects the second oil passage and the outer peripheral surface of the motor shaft. The valve is provided to the branched oil passage, and switches between a closed state in which oil inside the branched oil passage is blocked from flowing, and an open state in which oil inside the branched oil passage is permitted to flow.
