Abstract:
Provided is a drive method for a display device wherein a backlight has an LED (41) that includes one each of an R-LED chip (42R), a G-LED chip (42G), and a B-LED chip (42B) is arranged in a first and a second display area, and 2D-dimming drive is performed in the first display area and OD-dimming drive in the second display area. As a result power consumption is reduced in a display device that displays with the display area separated into a plurality of areas.
