Abstract:
A drive mode selection device for selecting the drive mode of an assist device capable of assisting a user by generating motive force using the power in a battery, and capable of driving in a plurality of drive modes having different output levels, the drive mode selection device being characterized by having: a task information acquisition unit for acquiring task information, which is information pertaining to a prescribed task to be performed by the assist device; a remaining capacity acquisition unit for acquiring the remaining capacity of the battery; a power prediction unit for predicting whether the amount of power will be sufficient or not, on the basis of the task information and the remaining battery capacity; and a mode selection unit for selecting the drive mode on the basis of the prediction results.
