Abstract:
The invention has its object to provide a drive shaft connecting device for a cold roll forming machine, which is constructed to enable sliding of an intermediate stand on a common base to complete connection of the same to a roll shaft with a single action simultaneously performing required positional changes in accordance with regulation of pressing-down forces of roll stands. Couplings (21, 22) connected to a drive system via expansion type universal joints are mounted on coupling holders (14, 15) mounted to vertically slidable linear guides in a manner to be minutely movable in horizontal and vertical directions, and an intermediate stand (10) supporting these parts is slid on the common base (1) to permit the coupling holders (14, 15) as lifted to descend to be stopped by automatic centering guides (14d, 15d), thereby allowing the couplings (21, 22) to face ends of roll shafts (31, 32) whereby it is possible to complete connection of the couplings to roll shafts with a single action while automatically effecting heightwise regulation without reading and adjusting levels of the couplings, and to freely regulate rolling forces during a forming operation since the couplings are kept vertically free.
