The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drive system for a dump truck, which has a smaller-capacity converter for exciting a two-winding induction generator and can control output according to the converter capacity. To achieve this purpose, the drive system for a dump truck comprises an induction generator equipped with a primary winding including a main winding and an auxiliary winding, a rectifier that converts an AC voltage generated in the main winding into a DC voltage, a main-unit side load connected to the rectifier, a converter that is connected to the auxiliary winding to excite a secondary winding of the induction generator and convert an AC voltage generated in the auxiliary winding into a DC voltage, an auxiliary-unit side load connected to the converter, and a control device that controls the converter. The control device controls the DC voltage of the auxiliary-unit side load on the basis of power required for the auxiliary-unit side load, and controls the DC voltage of the main-unit side load on the basis of power required for the main-unit side load and a converter capacity that is the current capacity of the converter.
