A control means (5) of a drive system (1) for a vehicle performs control such that the rotation speed to be inputted to an input member (122) of a one-way clutch (OWC1) is lower than the rotation speed of an output member (121) by controlling the rotation speed of an engine (ENG1) and/or the gear ratio of a transmission (TM1) during series travel in which motor travel is performed by generating electric power by a sub motor generator (MG2) by the power of the engine (ENG1) and supplying the generated electric power to a main motor generator (MG1), and when performing a shift from the series travel to engine travel, changes the rotation speed to be inputted to the input member (122) of the one-way clutch (OWC1) to a value higher than the rotation speed of the output member (121) by controlling the rotation speed of the engine (ENG1) and/or the gear ratio of the transmission (TM1), and performs the shift from the series travel to the engine travel.
