Abstract:
This drive unit (101) comprises a first gear (61) which rotates about a first shaft (161), a second gear (62) which rotates about a second shaft (162) extending in a direction perpendicular to the first shaft (161), and a third gear (63) which rotates about a third shaft (163) extending in a direction perpendicular to the first shaft (161). A plurality of elongated elements (13) include a first elongated element (13a) which is rigid and engages with the second gear (62), and a second elongated element (13b) which is rigid and engages with the third gear (63). The second gear (62) and the third gear (63) engage with the first gear (61), and in association with the rotation of the first gear (61), the first elongated element (13a) moves along the longitudinal direction of the surgical instrument for medical use (4b) and the second elongated element (13b) moves along the opposite direction to the first elongated element (13a), thereby manipulating a tip part (11).
