Abstract:
Provided is a drive unit that is capable of reducing the operation angle of a universal joint. The drive unit comprises: a first member that transmits the torque of a rotary shaft of a first motor to a left wheel; and a second member that transmits the torque of a rotary shaft of a second motor to a right wheel, wherein the first and second members each comprise a shaft part, and a universal joint connected to both end sections of the shaft part, and are each mounted on an automobile. In the first motor and the second motor, a portion from an end surface of the first motor to a vehicle wheel-side end section of the first member and a portion from an end surface of the second motor to a vehicle wheel-side end section of the second member are disposed overlapping in at least one direction among the front-rear direction and the vertical direction of the automobile, while an end surface of the first motor on the reverse side of the first member-arranged side and an end surface of the second motor on the reverse side of the second member-arranged side do not face each other.
