Abstract:
A driving assist device (10) is provided for recognizing an object in the vicinity of a moving body and assisting the driving of the moving body, the driving assist device (10) comprising: an object detection unit (12) for detecting an object in the vicinity; a solid matter detection unit (13) for detecting a solid matter in the vicinity; an object information storage unit (16) for storing the position of the object detected by the object detection unit (12); a solid matter information storage unit (17) for storing the position of a solid matter detected by the solid matter detection unit (13); and an object recognition unit (18) for recognizing an object in a predetermined detection position as a non-obstacle when the position of the object is stored in the object information storage unit (16) and the position of the solid matter is not stored in the solid matter information storage unit (17), the predetermined detection position having been detected by both the object detection unit (12) and the solid matter detection unit (13). Consequently, an object detected as an object but not detected as a solid matter is recognized as a non-obstacle on the basis of the current and past positions of the object and solid matter.
