Abstract:
Disclosed is a driving assistance apparatus for a wheelchair, comprising: a mounting frame installed on a frame of a manual wheelchair, which has front and rear wheels, along the width direction of the wheelchair; a main frame that supports the entirety; a stem frame inserted into the main frame so as to be rotatable, wherein a steering handle is formed on one side of the stem frame, and a driving wheel that is driven by a separate drive motor is coupled to an opposite side of the stem frame; a connecting frame that is formed to be long and is connected, at one side thereof, to the main frame, and has a coupling part on an opposite side thereof, which is coupled to the mounting frame; and a guide unit that is provided on the connecting frame such that the length of a part thereof can be adjusted, wherein the guide unit is coupled, at one side thereof, to the mounting frame such that the length thereof is optionally reduced, and guides the coupling part such that the coupling part approaches the mounting frame without separation.
