Abstract:
This driving assistance device (10) comprises an irradiation device (33) for radiating light in the travel direction of a vehicle and an imaging device (22) for imaging an area around the vehicle. The driving assistance device (10) comprises: an object detection unit (11) which detects an object present around the vehicle on the basis of an image captured by the imaging device; an avoidance control unit (16) which, if there is a possibility that the object detected by the object detection unit and the vehicle collide, performs collision avoidance control for avoiding a collision between the object and the vehicle; and a light distribution control unit (17) which switches the irradiation light of the irradiation device between high beam and low beam on the basis of a predetermined switching condition. If the collision avoidance control is performed by the avoidance control unit while the irradiation light is in the high-beam state, the light distribution control unit (17) performs switching suppression control to suppress the switching of the irradiation light from high beam to low beam
