A driving assistance device of the present invention is provided with the following: a facial imaging means (S10, S810) that captures a facial image of a driver of a vehicle; a line-of-sight direction detection means (S30, S820) that detects the line-of-sight direction of the driver; a gaze region setting means (S90, S860, S890, S920, S950, S980, S1010, S1040) that sets the gaze region at which the driver is gazing; a display means (7); a line-of-sight action determination means (S40, S830) that determines whether or not a driver's action of moving his line of sight matches a preset display start instruction action; a display start means (S50, S110, S840, S1070, S1090, S1110, S1130, S1150, S1170, S1190, S1200) that has the display means start the display of display information having preset contents in accordance with the gaze region, in a case where the driver's action of moving his line of sight matches the display start instruction action.
