Abstract:
This driving-assistance device (100) sets a normal-travel region (AR) around the ego vehicle (C) and uses the presence of an unavoidable obstacle (D) in said normal-travel region (AR) as the condition for providing collision-avoidance driving assistance. In particular, in this driving-assistance device (100), if a plurality of obstacles are detected in the normal-travel region (AR), the width (W) of said normal-travel region (AR) is decreased. As such, the point in time at which it is determined that a collision between the ego vehicle (C) and an obstacle cannot be avoided inside the normal-travel region (AR) comes earlier if a plurality of obstacles are present. This driving-assistance device (100) thus allows collision-avoidance assistance that feels more appropriate to the driver even in situations in which a plurality of obstacles are present in the normal-travel region (AR).
