Abstract:
This driving assistance device for displaying the conditions around a vehicle on a display unit (13) is equipped with: a storage device (19) for storing the shape of the external contour of the vehicle; target object detection devices (14, 15) for detecting the position of a target object present around the vehicle, and the shape of the external contour of the target object on the vehicle side thereof; a movement-information acquisition device (17) for acquiring movement information pertaining to the direction and amount of movement of the vehicle; a relative-position estimation device (16) for estimating the relative position of the target object in relation to the vehicle, on the basis of the position of the target object and the movement information; an image generation device (20) for generating a top-view image in which the vehicle and the target object are seen from above, on the basis of the external-contour shape of the vehicle, the external-contour shape of the target object, and the relative position of the target object in relation to the vehicle; and a display device (21) for displaying the top-view image on the display unit.
