Abstract:
This driving assistance device is provided with: a first type of sensor (211) for detecting an object (Vp) ahead; a second type of sensor (221) different from the first type of sensor; and a control unit (100) for performing an inter-vehicle distance control, in which a vehicle (500) is controlled using outputs of the first and second types of sensors so that the distance to the object ahead of the vehicle is within a predetermined range. The control unit detects the object ahead of the vehicle on the basis of the output from one sensor among the first and second types of sensors. In addition, in the case in which the object ahead of the vehicle is not detected on the basis of the other sensor, the inter-vehicle distance control is not performed when the situation surrounding the non-detecting sensor satisfies a first condition related to the reliability of the output of the non-detecting sensor (C12LR, C21LL), and the inter-vehicle distance control is performed, on the basis of the output of the detecting sensor detecting the object, when the situation surrounding the non-detecting sensor satisfies a second condition indicating a lower reliability of the output of the non-detecting sensor than the first condition (C12LL, C21LU).
