Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a driving assistance device and a driving assistance method, which are capable of sufficiently predicting interference occurring between a host vehicle and another vehicle when the other vehicle avoids an obstacle, wherein the other vehicle is traveling in an adjacent lane ahead of the host vehicle. The driving assistance device according to the present invention is provided with: a dynamic information acquisition unit which acquires, from each of a plurality of vehicles, at least one of host vehicle dynamic information, other-vehicle dynamic information, and obstacle dynamic information as dynamic information; a map data acquisition unit which acquires map data including lane shapes, which are attributes of roads; a dynamic information management unit which manages the dynamic information and the map data in association with each other; an interference prediction unit which, on the basis of the dynamic information and the map data, predicts whether or not a host vehicle will interfere with another vehicle when the other vehicle avoids an obstacle, wherein the other vehicle is traveling, ahead of the host vehicle, in a lane adjacent to the lane in which the host vehicle is traveling; and a driving assistance information generation unit which generates driving assistance information based on the prediction result.
