Abstract:
A driving assistance device (3) is provided with a deceleration detection unit (53, S200), information calculation units (51, 53, S110, S200, S410, S500, S710, S800) and an indicator calculation unit (59, S230, S530, S820). Subsequent to the start of deceleration of a host vehicle, the information calculation units derive at least one type of forward information, from among: a predicted collision time until the host vehicle collides with a preceding vehicle; a vehicle-to-vehicle time until the host vehicle reaches the position of the preceding vehicle; and a vehicle-to-vehicle distance between the host vehicle and a preceding vehicle if the host vehicle stops. The indicator calculation unit derives, on the basis of the forward information, an indicator indicating a driving characteristic, which is a characteristic of a driving operation of a driver.
