Abstract:
Provided is a driving assistance device which, in association with a notification device, carries out a notification process of notifying a driver of the risk of a collision with the preceding car. Said device comprises: a following distance acquisition unit (F1) which successively acquires a following distance; a first index value computation unit (F4) which, on the basis of a travel speed and the following distance, computes a first risk index value which indicates a degree of risk of a collision; a second index value computation unit (F5) which, on the basis of the relative velocity of the local vehicle with regard to the preceding vehicle, successively computes a second risk index value; a notification level determination unit (F6) which, on the basis of the first and second risk index values, successively determines a notification level which indicates how forcefully the risk of collision is to be presented; and a notification processing unit (F7) which carries out the notification process in a notification mode based on the notification level.
