The present invention suppresses car sickness caused by the shaking-back of an occupant's head on a curved road traveling scenario. This driving assistance method is for a vehicle (V) provided with a turn traveling controller (40) which controls traveling of the vehicle so that the vehicle travels along a turn traveling route, the method including: detecting whether the road ahead of the vehicle (V) is a curved road; acquiring, when the road ahead of the vehicle (V) is a curved road, the road shape at around the end of the curve; setting a turn traveling route (D) of the vehicle (V) so that a steering neutral return position (Ps) where the steering angle of the vehicle (V) returns to a neutral position when the vehicle (V) travels from the curved road to the straight road is set to a position that goes beyond the boundary between a curved line and a straight line toward the straight road side and that is nearer to the curve outer side than the central position of the road width; and carrying out traveling control so that the vehicle (V) can travel along the turn traveling route (D).
