Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a driving control device and a driving control method which reduce the amount of effort required to perform parking. A driving control device according to the present invention is provided with: a travel-information acquisition unit 3 for acquiring travel information indicating the position, speed, and travel state of a vehicle provided with an automatic driving function, said travel state being either automatic driving travel or manual driving travel; an area determination unit 23 which detects, on the basis of the travel information, a stop position of the vehicle being manually driven, refers to map data in which information related to no-parking areas is described, and determines whether the stop position is in a no-parking area; a car-park search unit 24 which, in cases when the area determination unit 23 determines that the stop position is in a no-parking area, searches for a vacant car park; and an automatic-driving instruction unit 4 which issues instructions to automatically drive the vehicle from the stop position to the vacant car park.
