Abstract:
A driving force transmission device is provided with a power transmission device which transmits power via a drive medium formed by a belt or a chain, and a tensioner which applies tension to the drive medium. The tensioner is provided with a compression spring which applies force to the drive medium, stops which prevent the compression spring from shrinking to a length not longer than a predetermined value, and an adjustment section which is capable of pressing the compression spring in the direction of the drive medium until the length of the compression spring is equal to a predetermined value. Due to such a configuration, the tension of the drive medium becomes predominant at the time that the driving force transmission device is installed. When the drive medium becomes a little fatigued, the stops of the tensioner separate from each other, and the compression spring absorbs the vibration of the drive medium. As a result, by means of a simple configuration, it is possible to extend the replacement time of the tensioner.
