Abstract:
A driving support device (1) which is connected to a camera (2) mounted on a vehicle and having a wide-angle lens for imaging the road surface in the travelling direction of the vehicle, and which displays, on a display device (18), images on the basis of camera images imaged by the camera (2). The driving support device (1): acquires vehicle information including speed and gear status which is the status of the transmission of the vehicle; assesses a movement preparation status which is the status when the vehicle is stopped and has the possibility of movement, a movement initiation status which is the status when a vehicle is moving from the initialisation of movement until predetermined movement conditions are established, or a movement status which is the status when the vehicle is moving after the establishment of the movement conditions; generates a wide-angle image which is an image having distortions when the vehicle status is movement preparation status or movement initiation status, but having a wide visible range; and generates a non-distorted image which is an image in which distortion from the lens shape and distortion from the projection method is removed from camera images when the vehicle status is movement status.
