Abstract:
This driving support device is provided with: a recognition processing unit for recognizing the situation around a vehicle; a driving support processing unit for executing driving support control according to the situation surrounding the vehicle that has been recognized by the recognition processing unit; a display processing unit for displaying on a display unit changes in the situation surrounding the vehicle if the situation surrounding the vehicle has changed; a detection processing unit for detecting information relating to the line of sight of the driver of the vehicle; and an output processing unit that outputs a first notification for notifying a driver that the situation surrounding the vehicle has changed using a notification unit separate from the display unit if the situation surrounding the vehicle has changed, and after outputting the first notification, outputs a second notification for notifying the driver again that the situation surrounding the vehicle has changed using the notification unit if, on the basis of detection results of the detection processing unit, the line of sight of the driver is detected to not be facing the display unit.
