Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a technique capable of suppressing the potential that a driver will unintentionally arrive at a caution point at which a decision must be made about whether to travel. [Solution] A planned travel route for guiding a vehicle to a destination is acquired and used in guidance, a road-continuation route for a case in which the vehicle continues on the current road is acquired, caution points at which a decision must be made about whether to travel are acquired, intersections that are positioned between the vehicle and the caution points on the road-continuation route and that connect a route that can be travelled along without arriving at caution points other than the caution points on the road continuation route are specified as intersections for guidance, and if the guidance using the planned travel route is not being carried out, the intersections for guidance are used in guidance.
