Abstract:

This driving system for a rotary electric machine is provided with: a rotary electric machine having a plurality of windings; an inverter device which includes a control device for controlling power conversion by an inverter circuit and operates the rotary electric machine at variable speed; and a winding switching device which switches the connection of the plurality of windings in response to a command from the control device. The control device commands the winding switching device to switch the connection of the windings when the rotation of the rotary electric machine is transitioning between a low-speed region and a high-speed region by accelerating/decelerating, the starting ends and the terminal ends of at least one group of windings per phase of the rotary electric machine are led out in connectable states, and the winding switching device is provided with at least one movable part driven by a single actuator. The movable part is provided with: a first shorting part for shorting at least two of the starting ends; a second shorting part for shorting at least two of the terminal ends; and a third shorting part for shorting at least one of the starting ends and at least one of the terminal ends.
