Abstract:
This invention provides a droplet amount measurement device capable of high-magnification, high-resolution imaging of a flying droplet discharged from a droplet discharge nozzle. Specifically, this droplet amount measurement device for imaging a droplet discharged from a droplet discharge nozzle and measuring the volume of the droplet comprises: a nozzle orientation holding unit for holding the droplet discharge nozzle in a prescribed orientation; an illumination light emission unit for emitting illumination light at a prescribed inclination angle toward a reflection surface provided to the side of a discharge port of the droplet discharge nozzle, the inclination angle being set such that the illumination light reflected by the reflection surface crosses the path along which the droplet flies; an imaging camera for using an imaging element to receive the illumination light that has crossed the path along which the droplet flies and imaging a cross-sectional shape of the droplet; and a volume calculation unit for calculating the volume of the droplet imaged by the imaging camera from the cross-sectional shape of the droplet. The imaging camera has an image formation lens that is set such that the imaging element and the path along which the droplet flies are in a Scheimpflug arrangement or shifted arrangement.
