Abstract:
A droplet generating method for three-dimensional metal printing, for use in segmenting a metal flow during a liquid metal or softened and flowable metal accumulation process for three-dimensional metal printing and forming, to form metal droplets. The method comprises: applying an electrical current between a metal flow and printed metal (7) during a liquid metal or softened and flowable metal accumulation process; and partially heating and vaporizing the metal flow by means of resistive heating and fusing the metal flow, such that metal droplets are formed on the printed metal (7). The method can quickly generate miniature metal droplets during a three-dimensional metal printing and forming process, features simple control means and a high response speed, and solves the common "dragging" problem of a molten raw material in the FDM three-dimensional printing technology. Metallurgical fusion is implemented between the generated metal droplets and the printed metal (7), thereby achieving extremely high connection strength. Metallurgical electrical field-based regulation and control can be integrated in the metal three-dimensional printing and forming process.
