Title:
DRUG FOR RETINAL DEGENERATIVE DISEASE ASSOCIATED WITH PHOTORECEPTOR DEGENERATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/009265
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a medicine with which it is possible to simply treat and/or prevent retinal degenerative diseases associated with photoreceptor degeneration, including retinitis pigmentosa. The solution is to provide an agent for treating and/or preventing retinal degenerative diseases associated with photoreceptor degeneration, the agent being characterized by containing a compound having a retinoic acid receptor agonistic action (such as tamibarotene, tamibarotene methyl ester, tamibarotene ethyl ester, tazarotene, tazarotenic acid, adapalene, palovalotene, retinol, isotretinoin, alitretinoin, etretinate, acitretin, and bexarotene) or a salt thereof.
