Abstract:
A drum brake apparatus (11) is provided with a gear housing (41) having an anchor part with which one end of each of a pair of brake shoes (21, 23) that are adjacent to each other comes into contact, a wheel cylinder (13) that is interposed between the other ends of the pair of brake shoes (21, 23) that are adjacent to each other, an expansion mechanism (15) that is disposed inside the gear housing (41) and that expands the pair of brake shoes (21, 23) by means of an electric motor (39), a switching lever (64) that is rotated by means of a force exerted by the expansion mechanism (15), and a linking member(17) that, following the rotation of the switching lever (64), expands the adjacent ends of the pair of brake shoes (21, 23) on the wheel cylinder side.
