Abstract:
Provided is a drum washing machine capable of improving the accuracy of load detection. The drum washing machine is provided with: an external tank (20) configured inside a housing (10); a drum (22) configured inside the external tank (20) and capable of rotation about the horizontal axis or about an axis inclined with respect to the horizontal direction; a rotating body (24) configured at the rear part of the drum (22), the surface of the rotating body (24) furthermore having a protruding section (24a) in contact with the articles of laundry; a drive unit (30) capable of operating in a first drive mode and a second drive mode; the first drive mode being a drive mode which causes the drum (22) and the rotating body (24) to rotate at different rotational speeds; the second drive mode being a drive mode which causes the drum (22) and the rotating body (24) to rotate as one integral body at the same rotational speed; and a control unit (801). At this point, the control unit (801) causes the drive unit (30) to operate in dual-axis mode, such that the drum (22) accelerates in rotation up to a sticking speed at which the articles of laundry stick to the inner circumferential surface of the drum (22); according to the rotational loads applied to the drum (22), and to the rotating body (24) rotating with respect to the drum (22), while the drum (22) accelerates in rotation up to the sticking speed, the load of articles of laundry in the drum (22) is detected (S11, S12).
