Abstract:

A drying and carbonizing device that can, even if an object to be dried is a highly viscous object or an object containing a large amount of solids (such as raw garbage, sludge, chicken droppings, and food wastes), dry the object in a good manner and is fuel-cost saving. Tube bodies (6) arranged in multiple stages in the vertical direction and extending in the lateral direction are disposed in a drying chamber (2) communicating with a primary combustion chamber (1) that has an exhaust tube (4) and filled with heat-resistant fine particles (16). The ends of each tube body (6) are made to alternately communicate with the ends of the upper or lower tube bodies (6) to integrate them into a single tube body. Screw conveyors (12) are incorporated in the tube bodies (6), respectively, such that their forward and return routes are vertically alternate to each other between the tube bodies. An electric heater (30) is disposed in a screw shaft (12a) of each screw conveyor (12). Supply means for supplying gas generated in the tube bodies (6) into the primary combustion chamber (1) is installed between the primary combustion chamber (1) and the tube bodies (6).
